Hi all,

Hoping someone can give me a little advice regarding moving in with a new bf? My bf has discussed about my son, 4 years old, and myself, moving in with him toward the end of the year. Just curious what this means in terms on Centrelink payments? Are payments based on his income? Is it means tested on his income, even though I dont expect him to support my son and I at all. I also work 4 days a week, looking at going back to work fulltime next week when my son starts prep.

Any info is much appreciated :)

Ok so 2 things will happen, you will get moved from parenting payment single to parenting payment partnered>> a reduction of about $300 a fortnight there, then you will have to report his income every fortnight, another payment reduction there, sometimes a massive reduction depending on his income.

Since you are working 4 days already, and moving to 5, perhaps you do not receive any PPs or PP, but your FTB payments will be based on 'household income' which includes yours and your b/f's. Perhaps try the online calculator to gain an estimate (but do NOT rely on this to be accurate!). http://www.humanservices.gov.au/custome ... r-families
Best wishes to you in your new circumstances.
